Time to start this up for real.

Apparently my wife has been telling people about my sausage blog, but, I don't have any real posts on here yet. Time to change that.

We'll start with the sausage from Smiths Red and White, in Dorches, North Carolina, just South of Rocky Mount. This is good stuff. I took about two pounds of the hot to a group camping trip, and everyone raved about it. For some, it may have been their first time trying real country sausage.

If you want to try the sausage from Smith's Red and White, I recommend you go before the middle of November. Come December, there can be a line upwards to an hour to get this sausage, as people traveling on I-95 stop to get some as gifts. I buy about 10lbs when I go, as it freezes well with a vacuum sealer. (Fresh is best, but, as I live about an hour away, I can't just get fresh whenever I want it.)

I'll try to update this blog more frequently. If you have a good sausage you think I should try, let me know about it, and maybe I'll add a write up on your favorite.
